Estimate your rewards
Any active validator, before its commission: about 5.42% a year
What Celestia's inflation pays over a year, as a share of the stake, before the validator's commission. Celestia sets the year's new tokens once a year, on the anniversary of its genesis, and mints them evenly over time, however fast blocks come, so every active validator's stake earns the same rate before its commission.
How this is worked out
Celestia mints 25.61M TIA this year (2.17% inflation), evenly over time. Less the 2% community tax, it is shared by the 463.23M TIA staked, so every active validator’s stake earns 5.42% a year before its commission.

Assumptions
- Celestia sets its inflation once a year, counting years of 365.2425 days from its genesis: it changes next on Oct 31, 2027 (13:16 UTC).
- The amount minted is fixed for the year, so the rate falls as more TIA is staked and rises as stake leaves.
- Transaction fees are shared out the same way but left out here.
- Rewards are not counted as restaked. They wait until claimed; claiming and restaking them every day turns 5.42% a year into about 5.57%.
