While its oracle is active a validator shares in the 70% of block rewards set aside for that work; one that misses its oracle duties is deactivated and loses that share until its operator reactivates it, at the earliest 10 minutes later. |

Feed coverage
How many of Band's price feeds a validator reports a price for. A feed is one price, such as BTC-USD or EUR-USD, that every validator whose oracle is active reports every few minutes; the chain's price is their stake-weighted median. A validator can answer that a price is unavailable or unsupported instead, and keeps its oracle and its share of rewards. BitBasic counts a feed only when most of these validators report it, so a price nobody can get counts against no one. |

Price accuracy
Whether a validator's prices match the chain's own. BitBasic compares each price a validator reports with the chain's price read within 10 seconds of it, and calls it off when it is more than 1% away; honest validators are usually within a few hundredths of a percent. A validator is Off price when at least 3 of its prices in the last hour, and more than 5% of them, were off, a sign its price source has stalled or broken. A feed most validators are off on at once is left out: then the market moved, not one validator. |
