Description
Summary
This proposal requests Council approval to implement GIP-0086: Rewards Manager and Subgraph Service Upgrade.
The upgrade refines the Rewards Manager and Subgraph Service contracts to enable integration with the Issuance Allocator (GIP-0076) and the Rewards Eligibility Oracle (GIP-0079), and introduces accounting and reclaim improvements that make reward flows more transparent and correct.
The key improvements are:
-
Eligibility oracle configuration - governance can connect an eligibility oracle to the Rewards Manager
-
Refined rewards collection - clearer handling of when rewards are claimed, denied, or deferred
-
Rewards reclaiming configuration - governance can configure addresses to receive undistributable rewards (inactive until configured)
-
Improved reward tracking - better accumulator accounting and new view functions
Context
Deploying the Issuance Allocator and Rewards Eligibility Oracle requires corresponding contract changes to the Rewards Manager. Without this upgrade, issuance cannot be sourced from the allocator, ineligible indexers cannot be prevented from receiving rewards, and forfeited rewards cannot be redirected.
Improvements split into two activation tiers: accounting and collection refinements that take effect on deployment, and governance-gated features (eligibility oracle, issuance allocator, reclaim addresses) that require explicit activation before they affect reward flows.
Key Changes
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Eligibility Oracle | Denies rewards to ineligible indexers, emits RewardsDeniedDueToEligibility |
| Collection Outcomes | Three outcomes on POI presentation: Claim, Deny, Defer, each emitting POIPresented |
| Reclaim Addresses | Governance-configurable default and condition-specific destinations for forfeited rewards |
| Accumulator Logic | Freezes during denial periods, tracks zero-signal and below-minimum-signal cases |
| New View Functions | getAllocatedIssuancePerBlock, getRawIssuancePerBlock, getRewardsEligibilityOracle, reclaim getters |
