# The week on Casper: seven evictions and one equivocation on 3 November

Four Casper validators were evicted seven times between eras 24,436 and 24,440 on 3 November 2026, one of them for signing conflicting blocks. A validator with 743 delegators is still out. The network otherwise ran at 99.8% block fill.

Casper ran at a steady 8-second block time this week, and BitBasic rated its health close to 100%. The exception was a short run of validator evictions early on 3 November 2026. This update uses BitBasic's own Casper data. BitBasic began tracking Casper validators on 30 October 2026, so it covers the days since then.

## Evictions and an equivocation on 3 November

Casper does not slash stake. A validator that does no work in an era is evicted at the end of that era, and so is one that signs two conflicting blocks. An evicted validator leaves the set and earns nothing, and neither do its delegators, until its operator reactivates the bid.

BitBasic recorded seven evictions across four validators between eras 24,436 and 24,440, all on 3 November:

- Three validators were evicted in two eras in a row for taking no part in an era. One was the smaller of two validators named Casper Delegation (about 150M CSPR). The other two are unnamed: 012f55…4687 and 013725…d751.
- In era 24,440 a validator named OriginStake was evicted for equivocation, meaning it signed conflicting blocks. That key has since withdrawn its bid and holds no stake. A new key under the same name joined the set later on 3 November and holds 129.78M CSPR.

The active set shrank from 71 validators to 68 over those eras and stood at 70 later in the day. Era 24,437, which started at 03:01 UTC, had the lowest block fill rate of the week: 886 of 900 slots, or 98.44%. Recent eras have filled 99.8% to 99.9% of their slots.

As of 4 November, 013725…d751 is still evicted. It holds 30.4M CSPR from 743 delegators, and that stake earns no rewards until the operator reactivates the bid. Its delegators can see its status on its BitBasic page.

## Validator set and stake

- 70 of 100 validator slots are filled, and the auction keeps the same set for the next era.
- Total stake is 11.47B CSPR, which is 56.9% of the 17.43B CSPR circulating supply. There are 15,747 delegators.
- Stake is concentrated. The four largest validators together hold 35.8% of active stake, which is more than a third. The largest holds 11.8%.
- Annualised over the last 84 eras with rewards restaked, staking yield is 10.6% before commission.
- The network runs protocol version 2.2.2.

## For builders

On 27 October 2026, the Casper Association announced Contract Interact, a beta feature in CSPR.live 3.10.0. It adds an Interact tab to contract package pages, so users can call a contract's read and write entry points from the explorer. Write calls are signed with a wallet and need a payment amount, and the announcement suggests at least 2.5 CSPR. A failed transaction loses the whole payment.
